(Nee Perszewski) On February 3, 2014 God called our mother home to continue dancing waltzes and polkas with our Dad. Beloved mother of Barbara (Ronald) Kruszka, Myron (Judy), the late Robert (Nancy), Lee (Kathleen) Morgan, Joyce (Richard) Mason, Marian (Jeff) Knorr, Joan (Tony) Ciero and Jeanne Schindhelm. “Adopted Son” Americk Wojciechowski. Sister of Dolores Pillow and Judith Talaska, and the late Joe (Marilyn) and Ronald Perszewski. Further survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Bernie was born June 1, 1922 at home. She attended St. Vincent de Paul grade school and South Division High School, where she met our Dad. They married on September 12, 1942. They lived on the South side all their lives. After Dad retired they moved to Brooksville, Florida, living there 17 years. After Dad died, Mom moved to South Milwaukee living at Sun Rise Village Apartments. She made many friends there with Pat being especially kind by driving her to breakfasts, lunches and hair appointments, and Wilma who would look in on her and cook wonderful dishes.
When it was apparent she needed more care she made Sylvan Crossings her new home. There she enjoyed almost 4 years of a life filled with friends, fun, entertainment and various parties. She was treated tenderly with love and respect. Everyone was her favorite especially “Elvis”. A sincere thank you to Shelley, Grace, Michelle, Kathy and especially Kim the sunshine in her daily life. We can’t forget to mention Jennifer the hospice nurse and staff from Vitas. The caring staff at Franciscan Villa and Colleen the social worker from Family Care.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 800 Marquette Ave. South Milwaukee, Friday at 11 AM with visitation at the Church from 10 AM until the time of Mass. Private interment St. Adalbert Cemetery.
