Emeterio Avila

Emeterio Avila, 83 years of age, died peacefully on Saturday July 3rd, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Emeterio was born on March 5, 1938 to the late Manuel and Aurelia Avila in San Julian, Durango Mexico. He married Agustina Gonzalez in May 1956 sharing 65 years of marriage together they had 5 children Alejandro (Sofia) Aurelia (Gabriel) Clara (Amadeo) Anna (Martin) Emeterio Jr. (Caritina). He was further survived by his brothers and sisters: Francisca, Encarnacion, Guadalupe. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Jose, Juan, Ofelia, Carmen. Emeterio had many passions, such as his love for horses, his trips to the casinos, his time playing poker with his grandsons, his traveling, and many many hours of watching cowboy movies next to his loving wife. Thank you to the St. Luke’s abdominal transplant clinic for their many years of care, and especially to Dr. Shah in the Neuro ICU for his superior care and guidance.

A Funeral visitation will be held at Bruskiewitz Funeral Home at 4:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday July 7, 2021 at 5355 W. Forest Home Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53220.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church at 723 W. Washington St. Milwaukee, WI 53204 on Thursday July 8 at 10:00am. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.

Followed by burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery 3801 W. Morgan Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53221
