Irene Galaszewski

(Nee Jasinskyj)

Born to Eternal Life on Saturday, March 1^st, 2025 at the age of 73 years.

Loving wife of Douglas Galaszewski. Amazing mom to Amy (Ryan) Mulhall, Paul (Trini) Galaszewski, and Sunshine her cat. Dear Babtsi to Caitlyn & Ana Mulhall, and Lilly Galaszewski. Daughter-in-law to Mary Galaszewski. Sister-in-law of Jeff Cichacki, Jim (Mary Jo) Cichacki, Deb (Kevin) Cichacki, Brian (Pam) Cichacki, Mary Malone, Michelle McGee, Mike Cichacki and Lisa (Matt) Romersa. Further survived by other family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents Anna & Mykola Jasinskyj, cousin Jurko Jasinskyj, in-laws Genevieve & Richard Galaszewski and brother-in-law Robert Cichacki.

Irene attended St. Rose of Lima Grade School, graduated from Mercy High School in 1969 and attended Concordia College for a 13 week course, as well as MATC for nursing classes. She worked at Pavilion Nursing Home, with Dr. Albrecht for 9 months, and at US Bank for 37 years, retiring in 2015.

Irene married Doug, the love of her life, on July 1^st, 1972. 

She enjoyed vacationing with her family. Some of the vacations included Rome in 1988, Ukraine in 1993, Nashville, TN, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji and Branson, MO.

Irene was a very active member and leader of the Ukrainian community in Milwaukee, WI. She performed Ukrainian ethnic dancing and played the bandura. She was president of CYM for 16 years, where she taught children the traditions of Ukrainian culture. Irene volunteered for many, many years at the Holiday Folk Fair on behalf of the Ukrainian culture group and community, and received a Volunteer Hall of Fame Award from the International Institute for all her years of hard work and devotion.

Her hobbies included diamond art painting, knitting and latch hook; watching her favorite tv shows, and listening to inspirational music and reading.

Irene’s family would like to give special thanks to Renee, Kathy, Denise and Arianna from Horizon, Dr. Nunzio Gaglianetto, Dr. Shankar, Dr. Kleczka, Dr. Adam Coates, Suzanne Coates and the amazing team at Angel’s Grace Hospice Center in Oconomowoc.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8^th, 2025 at 10 AM at the Bruskiewitz Funeral Home, 5355 W. Forest Home Ave., Milwaukee, followed by a Funeral Service at 12 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
