Margaret “Marge” A. Dixon (nee Schmidt), age 87, passed into Eternal Life on April 18th, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family. Loving wife of Richard “Rich” D. Dixon for 65+ years. Devoted mother of Mark Dixon (Ruth Anne Rehfeldt), and Raquel Neilson (Doug). Adoring grandmother of Monica and Mariah Dixon, and Sophia and Sawyer Neilson. She was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Lorraine Schmidt (nee Reid), and her brother Frederick Schmidt, whom she loved very much and was very dedicated to.
Marge was born on December 19th, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up with a love for family and humor. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1956 where she loved band, especially tuba and trumpet. She married Richard in 1959 and spent years traveling, camping and hiking throughout Southern Canada and the Northern United States. Later she worked at Capitol Stamping for 18 years.
Marge cherished time spent with her loved ones and had an amazing ability to bring joy and laughter to those around her. She had a passion and gift for baking and cake decorating, often creating beautiful cakes that delighted family and friends. Growing up in a bakery, she held many talents. She was especially known for her carrot cake, pecan crunch pound cake, pumpkin chiffon pie and her amazing cheese torte. Per Rich, she was known as a great “cooker” for her lasagna and chuck roast.
Marge was very easy going and willing to try anything, from a new place to spicy food. She had a zest for life and all it brought. Above all, she treasured her moments spent with her grandchildren. They truly were her pride and joy.
Marge and Rich moved into St. Camillus on September 1st, 2023, where she made many friends.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Faith Community, 9520 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners, WI, on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 from 10:00 - 11:15 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM. Interment at Arlington Park Cemetery, Greenfield, WI.
The family has asked in lieu of flowers, please make donations in Margaret's memory to the American Diabetes Association.
