Margaret Anne Leech

Margaret Anne Leech

Margaret Leech entered into Eternal Life on September 8th, 2024, at the age of 95. She passed peacefully in spite of a stroke a few days earlier. She was born to Frank and Mildred Anderson in Paxton, IL on July 8th, 1929. Her family included two older sisters, Anges Louise Chadick and Dorothy “Dit” Irene Adams, and younger brother Paul E. Anderson. She was the last survivor of her siblings, even though she fought polio at age 17.

Margaret married her high school sweetheart, Donald Stuart Leech on November 30, 1947. She is the beloved mother of James S. (Sandra) Leech, Sandy (Joey) Korom, Jerry (Barb) Leech and Donna (the late Russ) Brenner. Dear grandmother of Danielle Leech, Erin Smith, Becky and Rachel Korom, Jenny Lyons, Brian and Scott Leech, Erica Gast, Bill Melcher III and Jamie Brenner. Further survived by twenty one great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There were numerous cousins that Margaret made sure to stay close to over the years, especially going to Balsam Lake every year to fish, spend time with others and have family picnics. The gatherings turned into Family Reunions over the years that we will make sure to continue into the future.

Margaret was dedicated to her family of all the generations, taking time to remember birthdays, celebrate milestones, and encourage people to reach their goals. Many believe they would not be who they are today without her encouragement and belief in their dreams.

She was committed to her community, loved all her neighbors, and left a lasting impression on many who crossed her paths. Some referred to her as the ‘Energizer Bunny’ - always cheerful, choosing to see the world through ‘rose colored glasses’, and never stopped living life to the fullest. She was an avid reader of hundreds of books, bowling leagues at a younger age, and never stopped going to church groups including dominos, despite being in an electric wheelchair. Others will always remember her as the Avon Lady.

Throughout her many years, Margaret followed the Lord’s teachings. She was involved in church in Chicago, IL and has been a member of Ascension Lutheran Church since moving to Milwaukee WI in 1954. Some things that others always think of her are that she was loving of others regardless of how we live, accepting, forgiving, and yet humble, kind, aware of her own human conditions.

Visitation Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 12-1:15 PM at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1236 S. Layton Blvd., Milwaukee, followed by the Funeral Service at 1:30 PM, followed with a Celebration of Life with ice cream and cookies. Private burial at Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family, which will be directed to Post-Polio Research.
