Duane Verba

He attended Northern Michigan University and graduated with a bachelors degree in accounting. After graduation he moved to Milwaukee and got a job at the City of Milwaukee where he worked as an accountant until he retired. It was there that he met his wife of 38 years Laura and they had 2 children Jared and Delaney. Duane loved being a dad and shared many adventures with his kids including marching in the Fourth of July parade, picking apples at Barthel’s farm, going to the circus parade, and carving pumpkins. Besides spending time with his kids, he enjoyed being in the woods, going hunting, taking long walks, and spending time with family and friends. Duane liked to travel and had special memories of hunting trips to Montana and Wyoming with his dad. He also traveled to see the giant Redwoods in California and most recently went to Bryce Canyon, Zion National Park, and Branson Missouri. Duane was a welcoming, kind, soul who touched many lives. 

He leaves behind his wife Laura, his children Jared (Amie) and Delaney, brothers Darell (Gale) and Jeff. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many many special friends. 

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, June 10th, 2023 at St. Matthias Catholic Church, 9306 W. Beloit Rd., Milwaukee, WI, with visitation from 10:00 until 11:45 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon. His final resting place will be at Bethesda Cemetery in Daggett, Michigan.
