Jeffrey Johnson

Jeffrey Johnson of Waterford, WI, beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father and Papa, 58, passed from this life to his eternal Heavenly home on January 6, 2022. He was born on June 6, 1963 to Emory and Carol (nee Hardy) Johnson.

Jeff grew up just outside Burlington, WI and graduated High School from East Delavan Baptist Academy. As a child, he attended church at Bethel Baptist in Burlington and trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was a longtime member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Union Grove, WI where he met his loving wife Courtenay. They were united there in marriage on December 29, 1990 and together raised a daughter and son, Emily and Alex.

As a young man, Jeff built silos for Wes Carlson Enterprises. He then worked as a fabricator for Dawley Aviation before securing his career as an Assemblyman of tractors at Case New Holland. He attained over 25 years of faithful service at their employment in Sturtevant, WI.

Jeff adored his family. His siblings and parents were dear to his heart and he thought the world of them. His favorite memories were at his wife’s parents’ cabin at the lake up north spending time there with family, relaxing, having fun and making memories. He enjoyed taking care of his large yard and he shared a special love of gardening with his daughter. Much time was spent nurturing their relationship as they cared together for the plants. Jeff and his son had a special affinity for Star Wars and they loved to catch up on the phone talking about daily activities and dreams for the future. He was so very proud of his children and how God is working in their lives. Four precious grandbabies were a great joy to his heart and he loved to play with them and watch them grow.

As best friends, Jeff and his wife Courtenay had great joy just being in each others’ presence. They spent much time enjoying their yard, swinging on “Papa’s Swing”, and cooking out in their fire pit. They shared a unique interest for antiquing and just being together working on restorations. Jeff was an avid reader and he took pleasure listening to Courtenay play piano as he relaxed with a good book.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Emory Richard Johnson; grandparents Emory and Audrey Johnson and Lester and Evalyn Hardy; his father-in-love, Thomas Aldrich, and a dear unborn grandbaby soul. He is survived by his wife, Courtenay (Aldrich) Johnson; children Emily (Trevor) Niemyjski, and Alex (Cassidy) Johnson; grandbabies Kalina, Eivin, Adelyne and Tucker; mother, Carol Johnson; mother-in-love, Margurite Aldrich; siblings Cheryl (Greg) Stine, Rick (Karen) Johnson, Brenda Leipzig, Amy (Boyd) Aldrich; brother-in-law Clint (Sheila) Richardson, as well as aunts, nieces and nephews, cousins and loving church family and friends.

A private burial will be at Rochester Cemetery in Rochester, WI. A memorial service will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church 417 – 15th Avenue in Union Grove, WI on January 19, 2022 at 10:00AM with Pastor Rich Schmidt officiating. Memorials honoring Jeff’s life are suggested to Union Grove Baptist Church.
