Adam Klaus Krapf

Adam Klaus Krapf

Born in Halle/Saale Germany on September 12th, 1937
Passed away in Milwaukee, WI on December 26th, 2020

Beloved husband of Renate Christa Krapf (deceased), Dear father of Gabriele Margarete Schweizer (Wolfgang), Loving Opa to Christopher and Jessica.
Survived by 1 sister, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Klaus grew up in Halle/Saale as the son of butcher. He followed in his father's footsteps, and became a butcher. When he was sixteen his adventurous spirit brought him to West-Germany and ultimately to Düsseldorf where he met his wife Christa. They married in 1961 and started their own butcher shop in Krefeld in 1964. Their daughter was born in 1966. Klaus and his wife immigrated to the United States in 1986. In 1988 they came to Milwaukee where they started Pumuckel's Wurst Haus, which they owned until their retirement in 2006.
Even after Christa passed away, Klaus enjoyed his travels and being with friends and family. He traveled frequently to various parts of the United States and back to Germany to visit family, and other parts of Europe.
Two of his greatest joys were his grandchildren, Christopher and Jessica. He was happy and proud of the lives they built for themselves.

Together, Klaus and Christa were active members in the German community of Milwaukee. Specifically, they were members of the Rheinische Verein in Milwaukee, and became the Prinzenpaar in 1992. From then on he was known as Prinz Pumuckel within the German community.

Due to COVID-19, there will not be a funeral at this time. We hope to have a small gathering at a later date to celebrate his life.
