Richard C. "Rick" Tylke Jr.

Richard C. "Rick" Tylke Jr.

Richard Christopher Tylke, Jr., age 55, passed away on December 25, 2020. Rick was born on January 23, 1965 to the late Richard Tylke, Sr. and Arlene (nee Rutkowski) Tylke. Rick was blessed with an incredible problem solving mind. He was always working on something, mainly his passion for cars. Rick loved to take cars apart and put them back together with the best machinery to make it run more efficient, and of course run faster. Rick was a big Mopar Fan. He loved to go down to Great Lakes Dragaway race track with his friends and daughters. He loved to teach and pass down his knowledge of cars to anyone who asked. He was always willing to help and there really wasn’t anything he could not fix.

Rick worked 20 years for SPX Corporation, where he was a final assembler, welder and trainer. He committed to knowing not only his job but how it played a role in the complete building of a product – it made him a valuable team member because he was able to recognize and solve problems. He loved to create new tools and new ways of getting the job done. He will be missed by his friends at SPX.

Above everything, he was most proud of being a dad to his two daughters. He would rearrange his work hours to be at band concerts, dance recitals, sporting events, and graduations. He loved to buy toys for him and the girls whether it was a swimming pool in the
backyard, giant waterslide, golf cart, snowmobile, ATV and the list goes on. He really was a big kid himself.

Rick loved to laugh and was always joking around – he had a nickname for everyone even if it wasn’t with the most appropriate words. Rick brought many smiles to friends and family. He leaves a huge hole in our hearts and will be truly missed.

Rick is survived by his daughters, Melissa and Meghan, who were his pride and joy; his former wife and friend, Kari; brother, James (Lynn) Tylke; sister, Sandra (James) Brown. Treasured Uncle to Nicholas (Amanda) Brown, Bradley Brown, Jeffrey (Quinn) Brown, Mitchell Brown, Gregg Tylke, Christine (Rick) Hansen and Christopher Tylke. Further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives. He will also be missed by his many lifelong friends who he considered family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Mark and Daniel; his father-in-law, Bob Anderson and brother-in-law, Thomas Carraway.

Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a Prayer Service at 3:00 pm. Private burial will take place on Monday, January 4, 2021 at St Adalbert Catholic Cemetery. Due to COVID guidelines, we ask that everyone wear masks and observe social distancing during the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to help defray college expenses for Rick’s daughters. An account is established at BMO Harris Bank in their names. (Donations can be made at any BMO Bank Location).

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God.
